Dr. Jens Eiko Birkholz has a diverse work experience, starting with their current role as the Head of Sales & Business Development at SMA Altenso GmbH, a subsidiary of SMA Solar Technology AG, since November 2022. Prior to this, they held the same role at SMA Sunbelt Energy GmbH from April 2019, and previously served as the Head of Off-Grid Sales from August 2015 to March 2019.

Before joining SMA Sunbelt Energy GmbH, Dr. Birkholz worked at SMA Solar Technology AG, where they served as the Head of Strategy & Markets from June 2014 to July 2015. Prior to this, they held roles in Corporate Strategic Sales and Global Market & Strategy Analysis between July 2013 and June 2014, and from October 2011 to June 2013, respectively.

Dr. Birkholz began their career as a Consultant at The Boston Consulting Group from February 2009 to August 2011. Dr. Jens Eiko also worked as a PhD student in Theoretical Physics at Georg-August-Universität Göttingen from February 2005 to October 2008.

Dr. Jens Eiko Birkholz obtained their Diplom-Physiker degree in Physics from Leibniz-Universität Hannover from 1999 to 2005. Additionally, they completed an internship on Photovoltaic Research at UNSW from 2002 to 2003.
