Richard Johnson has over 30 years of work experience in various roles within the environmental consulting and engineering industry. Richard started their career at Mott MacDonald as a Project Engineer before moving to Bureau Veritas as an Associate. Richard then joined SLR Consulting, where they held roles such as Director, Chief Operating Officer, and Operations Manager in different regions, overseeing a wide range of functions including finance, operations, and business development. Richard'sexpertise lies in infrastructure construction projects, waste facilities management, and environmental impact assessment.

Richard Johnson attended Galashiels Academy from 1979 to 1985. Richard then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology/Earth Science at the University of Glasgow from 1985 to 1989. Richard later obtained a Master of Science in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Glasgow in 1992.
