Steve Deering is an accomplished professional in the film industry with extensive experience in development, screenwriting, and production. Currently serving as the Head of Development at Open Door Film Project since September 2020, responsibilities include project selection, timeline development, and fundraising collaboration. As a freelance screenwriter since December 2011, Steve has successfully sold and optioned scripts while also working as a producer, overseeing national and international film projects. In addition to screenwriting and producing, roles as a Senior Story Analyst at several organizations, including Spec Scout and Slated, Inc., involve script analysis and mentoring writers. Other contributions include moderating for Finish My Damn Screenplay and producing content for Horror Show on AmericanHorrors.com. Steve holds a BA in Digital Arts from California State University-Dominguez Hills and a certificate in Playwriting and Screenwriting from UC Irvine.
