Emerson McIntyre has worked at nine different companies since 2013. Emerson began their career at Super Tiny Corp, where they served as Head of Design. Emerson then moved to Inbox Messenger as Creative Director in 2013, followed by ooVoo as Senior Product Designer in 2014. In 2015, they joined Moat as Director of Product Design, and in 2017 they became Principal Designer at Oracle. In 2018, they were Director of Product Design at Samba TV, and in 2019 they became Senior Product Designer at Box. In 2020, they were hired as Sr Product Designer at Brex, and also co-founded Slap, where they serve as Chief Design Officer.

Emerson McIntyre attended Northern Arizona University from 2010 to 2012, majoring in Graphic Communications and Advertising. Emerson also participated in a pre-law immersion program at Cornell University, focusing on Pre-Law Studies.
