Daniel Gomez Blanco is a seasoned software engineer with a focus on observability and operational monitoring. Currently serving as a Governance Committee Member for OpenTelemetry, Daniel contributes to setting project priorities and ensuring community health. As a Principal Software Engineer at Skyscanner since August 2018, responsibilities include leading efforts to enhance telemetry data instrumentation and improving debugging patterns. Previous roles include senior engineering positions at Skipjaq and CERN, where Daniel developed software solutions for application onboarding and database services. Daniel holds multiple degrees in Computer Science from Universidade de Vigo and Washington State University, and possesses a diverse technical background spanning front-end optimization, AWS data pipelines, and database development.
