Elizabeth Stone (Gerding) has a long and varied work experience. Elizabeth began their career in 2010 as a Legislative Assistant and Staff Assistant at the U.S. House of Representatives. Elizabeth then went on to work as a Lab Assistant in the Environmental Sciences Department at the University of Virginia in the same year. From 2012 to 2015, they were a Graduate Research Assistant, Graduate Teaching Assistant, and Research Assistant at Vanderbilt University, conducting research on a multi-disciplinary project studying decision-making and adaptation to climate change, funded by the U.S. National Science Foundation. In 2015, they became a Sustainability Research Assistant at Winston Eco-Strategies, surveying and analyzing Fortune 500 companies' corporate sustainability strategies and goals. In 2016, they held three concurrent positions as Head of Operations at Brooklyn Investment Group, Agricultural Research at Stony Creek Colors, and Math and Science Tutor at University School of Nashville.
Elizabeth Stone (Gerding) attended Vanderbilt University from 2013 to 2015, where they earned a Master of Science (M.S.) in Earth and Environmental Sciences. Prior to that, they attended the University of Virginia from 2006 to 2009, studying Environmental Sciences.
