Jim Hallm (He/Him/His)

Horticultural Supervisor at Skokie Park District

As the Horticultural Supervisor, Hallm ensures that our parks and recreational areas are beautiful and well-maintained for the community to enjoy. He focuses on the planning and upkeep of park grounds, horticultural features, and landscaping elements. His responsibilities include overseeing the maintenance of trees, shrubs, turf, and floral displays, as well as managing all plans and utility maps. Hallm also collaborates with the Superintendent of Parks, Planning, and Facilities to maintain an accurate tree inventory and Geographic Information System (GIS).

In addition to his professional role, Hallm enjoys a variety of hobbies that enrich his life outside of work. He loves gardening and finds joy in nurturing plants, which complements his career perfectly. Long car rides are another favorite pastime, allowing him to explore new places and enjoy the open road. An interesting fact about Hallm is that he got married at the age of 20, a milestone he cherishes. He’s also a pizza enthusiast—he can’t imagine life without it! As a fan of the Chicago Bears, he enjoys cheering for his favorite sports team, and he has a special fondness for the energetic sounds of '80s hair bands."
