Alexandra Sullivan has a diverse work experience starting from 2004 at Penn State University as a Student Technical Coordinator for the Anderson Endowment Lecture Series. Alexandra coordinated equipment, supervised other student employees, and worked with visiting artists, scholars, critics, and curators. Alexandra also filmed and edited videos for the online archives.

From 2005 to 2010, they worked at Tekserve as a Certified Apple Repair Technician. Their responsibilities included diagnosing and repairing Apple computer hardware and software, as well as providing support and training to junior and retail staff.

Starting in 2010, Alexandra joined the School of Visual Arts and held multiple roles within the institution. From 2010 to 2017, they worked as a Systems Administrator for the Digital Imaging Center, where they managed the computer infrastructure and was responsible for planning, deployment, maintenance, and support of all computers, servers, and local network services. Alexandra also collaborated with the Manager on department policies and procedures and worked with IT and outside vendors for network services and system administration.

From 2017 to 2020, they held the position of Linux Webserver Administrator, where they managed virtual Linux webservers hosting school and department websites, web applications, and other shared resources. Their responsibilities included application stack maintenance, SSO integration, DNS, and certificate management. Additionally, they project-managed the creation of new web resources with teams of independent contractors.

Most recently, in May 2022, Alexandra joined Skilljar as an IT Program Manager, where they currently hold the role.

Alexandra Sullivan's education history starts in 1998 when they attended Parsons School of Design - The New School. However, it is unclear whether they obtained a degree from this institution. From 2000 to 2005, they attended Penn State University and earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Women's Studies. During the same period, they also pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Studio Art from Penn State University. In 2006, they obtained the Apple Certified Macintosh Technician (ACMT) certification from Apple. In 2014, they furthered their education at the School of Visual Arts, where they obtained a Master's Degree in Art Practice, specializing in the field of study. The following year, they attended General Assembly for a brief period and studied Front-end Web Development, although there is no information regarding a degree obtained. Alexandra's additional certifications include the Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP), Apple Certified Technical Coordinator, and Jamf Certified Admin, although there are no details regarding the specific years or months they obtained these certifications.
