Karin Moberg Gardes serves as the Chief Operating Officer at the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) and has held the position of Executive Director/CEO (acting) alongside their COO role. Previously, Karin worked at Rädda Barnen (Save the Children Sweden) as the Director of Funding and Partnerships and Head of Institutional Partnerships. Karin also held the position of Director of External Relations and Governance Support at International IDEA and contributed to the European Commission in various capacities, including Member of Cabinet and Head of Inter-Service Quality Support Group Secretariat. Additionally, Karin's experience includes roles at IOM - UN Migration as Global Advocacy, Liaison Officer, and Project Development Officer. Karin holds a Master of Science in International Economics from the Stockholm School of Economics and a Master of Arts in International Economics with a focus on European Economic Integration from the College of Europe.
