Shawn Werner is an experienced political director with a robust background in advancing LGBT rights and campaign management. Currently serving as the Organizing and Political Director at Sister District Project since April 2023, Shawn has previously held influential positions including Regional Director of State & Local Campaigns at EMILY's List and Senior Regional Political Director at the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee. Noteworthy achievements include directing a $9 million state-based political program at the Gill Action Fund that successfully advanced LGBT rights and led lobbying efforts in Republican-dominated legislatures, as well as managing significant marriage equality initiatives at Freedom to Marry. Shawn holds a BA in Political Science from Dickinson College and has consistently demonstrated strong leadership and strategic skills throughout a career that began with the Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund.
