John Wright is an experienced grounds management professional with a diverse background in sports facilities and pitch maintenance. As a Project Coordinator at SIS Pitches from December 2022 to July 2024, John contributed to innovative pitch solutions. John served as Chairman and Director of the Grounds Management Association Young Board from November 2018 to October 2023, advocating for industry development. At Southampton Football Club, from July 2015 to September 2022, John managed 13 playing surfaces and implemented comprehensive maintenance programs as both Head of Grounds and Stadium Head Groundsman. Previously, John held the role of Senior Groundsman/Head Groundsman at Arena Coventry Limited from June 2013 to July 2015, and began a professional path at Coventry City Football Club as a Grounds Person, completing an NVQ Level 2 in Amenity Horticulture during an apprenticeship from September 2008 to June 2013.
