Andrew Gallagher has over 20 years of work experience in various technology-related roles. Andrew started their career as a Programmer at Queen's University Belfast in 1995 and 1996. Andrew then worked as a Computing Support Assistant at the same university from 1999 to 2004.
In 2005, Andrew became the Technology Manager at Banjax Studios Ltd, where they were responsible for setting up the IT infrastructure for a digital animation startup. Andrew also handled funding applications, reporting, asset management, and web development.
From 2006 to 2012, Andrew held the position of Senior Research Technician (Linux Specialist) at NUI Galway.
Andrew then joined Ward Solutions in 2013 as a Senior Infrastructure Consultant. In this role, Andrew was responsible for infrastructure management, software deployment, and IT security consultancy for major Irish and international customers. Andrew specialized in encryption technologies and high-availability infrastructure design and management.
Since 2017, Andrew has been working as the Head of IT and DPO at Siren, where they lead the IT department and serves as the Data Protection Officer.
Andrew Gallagher completed a Bachelor's degree in Applied Maths and Physics from Queen's University Belfast from 1992 to 1995. Andrew then pursued a Master's degree in Computational Science from the same university, graduating in 1996.
