Mazeda Hossain, PhD, serves as the Professor of Global Health and Director of the Eastern Africa Centre at Nottingham Trent University since October 2022. Concurrently, Mazeda holds the positions of Honorary Professorial Research Fellow and Associate Professorial Research Fellow in Global Health at the London School of Economics and Political Science, where involvement includes co-directing the GCRF Gender, Justice, and Security Hub. With an extensive background in social epidemiology, Mazeda is an Honorary Professor at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and has contributed as an Associate Researcher at SIPRI and a Visiting Scientist at the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute. Education includes a PhD in Social Epidemiology and an MSc in Reproductive & Sexual Health Research, both from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from Wellesley College.
