Brett Barwick is a seasoned software engineer and academic, currently serving as Principal Software Engineer and Team Lead at SIOS Technology Corp. since August 2018, with a progressive career including roles as Principal Software Engineer, Senior Software Engineer, and Software Engineer. Prior to this, Brett held the position of Assistant Professor of Mathematics at the University of South Carolina Upstate for six years and contributed as a Consultant for Hawkes Learning, focusing on educational video content for a Calculus textbook. Additional experience includes authoring and reviewing content for the online platform WebAssign accompanying James Stewart's textbook, "Calculus: Early Transcendentals." Academically, Brett earned a Ph.D. in Mathematics, as well as dual bachelor's degrees in Mathematics and Classical Guitar Performance from the University of South Carolina.
