James Dam has over 38 years of extensive experience in the telecommunications industry, currently serving as Principal Architect at Optus since 1995, where strategic planning, design, development, and deployment of innovative architectural solutions are primary responsibilities. Prior to this role, James held the position of Switch Technology Manager at Optus, leading critical product development and network security initiatives. James gained foundational experience at Telstra, working as a Senior Engineer in the CustomNet Product Group and as an Austpac Engineer. Throughout the career, James has shown exceptional skill in technical guidance, financial modeling, and cross-functional team leadership, earning recognition from Telstra's CEO for outstanding contributions. Academic credentials include a degree from Victoria University, obtained from 1980 to 1984.
