Shaji Varghese has extensive work experience in the field of finance and investment. Shaji is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Society for Innovation & Entrepreneurship -SINE IIT Bombay since December 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the same organization from February 2022 to November 2023.

Before joining SINE IIT Bombay, Shaji worked as a Senior Consultant at SAFIRE Capital Advisors India Pvt Ltd from October 2018 to January 2022. In this role, they provided investment banking and advisory services across various sectors, with a focus on mid-market and early growth stage companies.

Shaji is also a Co-Founder of TIG ConsultX Pvt. Ltd. since October 2018, where they played a crucial role in the company's establishment until January 2022.

From January 2007 to September 2018, Shaji held multiple positions at BTS India Private Equity Fund Ltd. Shaji started as a Vice President and later became a Partner. Shaji managed the fund and led investments in various sectors, including manufacturing & engineering, logistics, and infrastructure services.

Prior to that, Shaji worked as an Investment Manager at Kerala Venture Capital Fund from May 2001 to June 2006, and as an Associate Vice President at Gujarat Venture Finance Ltd. from July 2005 to December 2005.

Shaji's earlier experiences include working as an Officer at National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) from December 1998 to May 2001, where they were responsible for business partner audits and played a key role in developing frameworks for the debt segment. Shaji also worked as an Equity Analyst at Dolat Capital Market Private Ltd. from August 1998 to November 1998, and at Harish Chandra Gutt & Company from June 1997 to August 1998.

Shaji Varghese completed their Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from TKM College of Engineering from 1990 to 1994. Shaji then pursued a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (PGDBA) with a focus on Finance and Marketing from IBS Hyderabad between 1995 and 1997. Additionally, they obtained a Chartered Financial Analyst (ICFAI) degree from the Institute of Chartered Financial Analyst of India in 1996.
