Lillian Røstad

Lillian Røstad has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Lillian currently serves as the CEO/Administrerende direktør at Simula Research Laboratory, where they conduct research in scientific computing, software engineering, artificial intelligence, communication systems, and cyber security. Additionally, they hold the position of Chair of the Board at Simula Consulting AS and Simula Innovation, where they oversee early-stage technology investments.

Prior to their current roles, Lillian worked at Sopra Steria as the Managing Director Business Consulting Scandinavia and later as the Head of Cyber Security Advisory and Cyber Security Centre. Lillian also has academic experience, serving as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Oslo and NTNU. At NTNU, they were also a PhD student and taught classes on risk management, software security, and ethical hacking.

Lillian Røstad has an extensive education history in the field of information security. Lillian obtained a PhD in Information Security - Access Control from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) from 2004 to 2009. As part of their doctoral studies, they also spent a year as a visiting researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2007, focusing on access control.

Prior to their PhD, Lillian completed their Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Science - Information Security at NTNU from 1997 to 2002, earning the degree of "sivilingeniør."

In addition to their academic achievements, Lillian has also obtained certifications in other areas. In 2021, they completed the "Leading Organizations in Disruptive Times" program from INSEAD Executive Education and the "Circular Economy and Sustainability Strategies" course from the University of Cambridge.
