Purushotham Kamath

General Manager - Process Excellence & Development at Simple Energy

Purushotham Kamath has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Starting in 2001, they worked for Tata Motors as an Engineer in Quality and Process Management. In 2004, they joined Ford Motor Company as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, where they managed the Ford Consumer Product Audit and led the Squeak and Rattle cross-functional team.

In 2005, Kamath moved to Nokia, where they served as the Life Cycle Demand Supply Network Manager, responsible for managing product ramp-up, lifecycle, and ramp-down. Purushotham also provided logistics expertise to ensure cost-efficient delivery and fulfillment of demand requirements.

After their time at Nokia, Kamath returned to Ford Motor Company in various leadership positions. As a Delivery Manager, they led the Data Analytics team, launched visualization dashboards, and led the Innovation Council/Idea Hub team. Purushotham also administered cross-functional projects and supported benchmarking and business case-driven decisions. Additionally, Kamath managed the Digital Pre Assembly assessments team and set up the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team for Global Manufacturing Requirements.

In 2012, Kamath worked as a Management Consultant at Renoir Consulting before pursuing their Executive Post Graduate Diploma in General Management at XLRI Xavier School of Management in 2011. Purushotham also participated in the International Immersion Program at Tulane University - A.B. Freeman School of Business.

Currently, Kamath is the General Manager of Business Process Excellence & Development at Simple Energy, a position they have held since April 2023. Prior to this role, they served as the Deputy General Manager in the same department from May 2022 to March 2023.

Purushotham Kamath completed their Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Mechanical Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology in the years 1997 to 2001. In 2011 to 2012, they pursued an Executive Post Graduate Diploma (Full time MBA) in General Management with a specialization in Operations from XLRI Jamshedpur. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the Six Sigma Green Belt Certification from Advance Innovation Group in April 2012 and the Six Sigma Green Belt Project from Nokia in August 2008. Furthermore, they received the Six Sigma Black Belt Project certification from Ford Motor Company, and most recently, in June 2021, they completed the "AI For Everyone" course from Coursera.
