April A. Balzhiser, MA, LCPC, ICDVP has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. April A. has worked as the Director of Clinical Services/Program Director for Silver Oaks Behavioral Hospital since May 2022 and previously held the role of Program Director from March 2019 to May 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Silver Cross Hospital as a Supervisor/Clinician, Behavioral Health/Emergency Department from March 2015 to March 2019. April A. also has experience as a Mental Health Therapist in private practice since January 2012. Additionally, April has worked at Centene Corporation as a Clinical Manager, Medical Affairs from November 2014 to March 2015, and as the Chief Operating Officer at Guardian Angel Community Services from September 2006 to December 2014. In addition to their degrees, they have various certifications such as being trained by the Illinois Coalition Against Domestic Violence and the Illinois Coalition Against Sexual Assault. April A. is also certified as a Nonviolent Crisis Intervention CPI Certified, as a Certified Domestic Violence Professional by the State of Illinois, and as a Court Appointed Special Advocate by the State of Illinois. Furthermore, they are licensed as a Child Welfare Specialist & Licensing Supervisor by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services and as a Clinical Professional Counselor by the State of Illinois.
