Prasath Paramasivam, Ph.D., is a Senior Scientist at Silence Therapeutics plc since September 2021, where responsibilities include developing and leading projects for both internal and external partner programs while making strategic decisions regarding project direction. Prior to this role, Prasath served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics from November 2013 to August 2021, focusing on overcoming biological barriers to the delivery of macromolecules such as siRNA and mRNA. Prasath also engaged in doctoral research centered on silencing disease-causing gene expressions using small interfering RNAs. Earlier experience includes collaborative research on biomimetic nanomaterials as a Research Student at the Indian Institute of Science. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from Technische Universität Dresden, a Master's degree in Nanoscience and Technology from Anna University Chennai, and a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology from Bharathidasan University.
