Alberto Martinez has over 25 years of work experience, with a focus on clinical development and translational medicine. Alberto has held various leadership roles in pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
From 2020 to present, Alberto worked as a Senior Clinical Science Director at Silence Therapeutics plc. Prior to that, they served as Senior Director of Clinical Development at Orchard Therapeutics from 2018 to 2020.
Before joining Orchard Therapeutics, Alberto worked as a Clinical Development Director at Albumedix Ltd from 2017 to 2018. Alberto also served as a Drug Rescue Manager at Almac Group in 2016.

Alberto started their career as a Post Doc at Zeneca from 1994 to 1998.
Alberto Martinez has a diverse education history. Alberto started their academic journey in 1983 at the University of Waterloo, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science Honors degree with a focus on Biology and a minor in Chemistry. Alberto completed this program in 1987. Following this, they attended The University of Edinburgh from 1987 to 1991 and obtained a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Genetics. In 2006, Alberto enrolled at the University of Liverpool and accomplished a Master of Business Administration degree by 2009. Later, from 2009 to 2011, they attended the University of Basel and earned a Postgraduate Advance Diploma in Pharmaceutical Medicine.
