Svenn Gjetø has worked in the software development industry since 1995. Svenn began their career as a Developer at Di Systemer AS, followed by a role as a Developer at IBM Global Services in 1997. In 2001, they moved to ErgoSolutions as a Developer, before taking on a role as Senior Engineer at BIBSYS in 2003. In 2018, Gjetø moved to Unit – Direktoratet for IKT og fellestjenester i høyere utdanning og forskning as a Senior Software Developer, and is currently in the same role at Sikt – Kunnskapssektorens tjenesteleverandør since 2022.

Svenn Gjetø obtained their Master degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, and Information Systems from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) between 1986 and 1991. In 2002, they obtained a Java Programming Language, Java SE (SL-275) certification from AjourIT, Trondheim. In 2007, they obtained a CSM Certified ScrumMaster certification from Ken Schwaber & Geoff Watts (Programutvikling AS). Most recently, in 2019, they obtained an AWS Certified Developer - Associate (DVA) certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS).
