Xiaoyu Yin is a software engineer with experience in a variety of industries. Xiaoyu began their career in 2013 as an intern at the University of Maryland Institute for Advanced Computer Studies, where they developed an algorithm to detect text in scene imagery using connected component analysis, linear algebra, and deep learning under the mentorship of Dr. David Doermann. In 2015, they held software engineering roles at Skurt, UProspie, and The Diamondback, where they worked as a web developer. From 2016 to 2019, they were a software engineer at Gem HQ and Facebook. In 2021, they began their current role as a software engineer at Sigma Computing.

Xiaoyu Yin obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Maryland between 2014 and 2015. Prior to that, they obtained a Science, Math, Computer Science Degree from Poolesville High School between 2010 and 2014.
