Simin Gu has worked in various roles since 2018. In 2018, they were a Research Assistant at NYU Tandon School of Engineering, where they designed a mobile application, analytics dashboard, and website of an online learning platform. Simin also analyzed pedestrian's socio-visual behavior for self-driving cars in a city-like VR environment. Simin was also a Teaching Assistant of Augmented Reality at New York University, where they taught graduate students how to use ARkit, Vuforia, ARcore, and Unity. In 2019, Simin was a UX Designer at Worthix, where they designed and created an interactive prototype of Statistics dashboards and an Admin System to help the developer team manage projects, machine-learning models, and user permissions. Simin also created the Worthix design system and built a B2B client persona. Simin also held a VR Intern role at Multimer, where they developed a VR app for an architectural product and integrated it with the Multimer's Biometric equipment into VR world. Simin also collected head and gaze movement data and visualized and simulated data for analysis by VR content creator. Finally, Simin is currently a Product Designer at Sigma Computing.
Simin Gu attended Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications from 2013 to 2017, earning a Bachelor's degree in Digital Communication and Media/Multimedia. Simin then attended New York University from 2017 to 2019, earning a Master's degree in Integrated Digital Media.
