Carys Ashurst has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies. Carys started their career at Royal Mail in 2003, where they worked as a Management Recruitment Advisor for four years before transitioning to the role of Regional HR Advisor. In this role, they provided HR advice and support to a geographically dispersed management team in a unionized environment. Carys'sresponsibilities included advising and coaching managers on employment law and general people management.

In 2008, Carys joined Tribal as an HR and Training Officer. After two years, they were promoted to the position of HR Business Partner, operating both within the UK and internationally. In this role, Carys provided expert advice to executive and senior management, focusing on reducing business risk while driving business strategy. Carys worked closely with the HR Director and key stakeholders to create and implement People Plans aligned with corporate and group HR strategies. Carys gained extensive experience in various HR areas, including TUPE, restructuring, redundancy, recruitment, disciplinary and grievance, performance and absence management, strategic people planning, talent and development, and general HR advice and guidance.

Most recently, Carys worked at SIG plc as an HR Business Partner, supporting the Warehouse and Logistics operation for SIGD. Carys held this position for three years before being promoted to the Head of HR for SIGD in May 2020. In their role as Head of HR, Carys provided strategic and operational HR direction and guidance to managers across the multi-site distribution organization. Carys also led a team of HR Advisors who provided national employee relations support to the business.

Carys Ashurst completed their Bachelor of Science (hons) degree in European Studies from The Manchester Metropolitan University in the years 1997-2000. Following that, they pursued a Master's degree in Human Resource Management from Sheffield Hallam University, which they completed in the years 2002-2003.
