George Somi is a highly experienced Sr Systems Engineer at Sierra Space, with a background in systems engineering roles at companies such as Maxar Technologies and DigitalGlobe, where key contributions included leading systems development for satellite telemetry and employing UML and SysML for system design. In addition to engineering, George is an accomplished Resident Composer for the Mesopotamian Night Organization, crafting a diverse range of musical compositions for the concert series. Previous positions include systems engineering roles at Honeywell Aerospace and composition work for the Presidio Dance Theatre and Assyrian Aid Society. George also served as Vice Chair and Treasurer for the AIAA Phoenix chapter, focusing on event planning and financial organization. An internship at NASA Ames Research Center contributed to George’s expertise in atmospheric revitalization systems. George holds a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
