Christian Michel has a diverse range of work experience. Christian started their career in 1980 as a scientist at GSI Darmstadt, where they worked until 1984. Christian then joined Université catholique de Louvain in 1988 as an Associate Professor, a role they held until 2001. Following this, they joined Siemens Medical Solutions as a principal scientist in 2001. Overall, their work experience includes roles in academia and the medical solutions industry.
Christian Michel obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Nuclear Physics from Université Catholique de Louvain in 1979. Christian then pursued a postdoctoral position as a guest scientist at GSI Darmstadt, Germany, which is now known as the Helmoltz institute, from 1980 to 1984. Christian'sresearch focused on Coulomb excitation of rare earth and the subtreshold production of neutral pions.
