Laryssa Petryshyn has extensive work experience in the field of international education. Laryssa currently serves as the Managing Director of the International Accelerator Program at the University of South Carolina, a role they assumed in January 2022. Prior to this, Laryssa worked at D'Youville College for almost two decades, holding various positions including Associate Vice President of Global Education, Director of the International Student Office, International/Transfer Admissions Counselor, and Admissions Counselor. Laryssa worked in these roles from 2001 to 2020. Laryssa started their career at the University at Buffalo in 1999 as an Assistant Office Manager.
Laryssa Petryshyn holds a Master of Science-Interdisciplinary degree in Political Science and International Trade and Commerce from the University at Buffalo. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Art degree in Political Science with a minor in Russian, also from the University at Buffalo. Laryssa has acquired several additional certifications, including Mental Health First Aid USA from the National Council for Behavioral Health in May 2019. Laryssa also holds certifications in Education Abroad Advising, F-1 Regulations, F-1 Students: Levels 1-3, Introduction to the Incident Command System, J-1 Application, J-1 SEVIS Essentials: Level 1, Mapping Short Term Faculty-led Study Abroad Programs, National Incident Management System(NIMS), and Women's Leadership Institute, obtained from various institutions such as NAFSA: Association of International Educators, International Education Training Services, FEMA, and WNY College Connection.
