Brian Childs has extensive work experience in various roles in the fields of medicine, ethics, and education. Brian has been working as a Professor in the Department of Medicine (Adjunct) at the University of Maryland School of Medicine since 2013. Prior to that, they served as an Ethics Consultant at Living Legacy Foundation starting from 2005. From 2004, they worked as a Professor in the Graduate School of Management and Technology at the University of Maryland University College. Brian's career started in 1998 as the Director of Ethics and Spiritual Care at the Shore Health System University of Maryland Medical System.
Brian Childs received their Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Maryville College in 1969. Brian then went on to attend Princeton Theological Seminary from 1969 to 1981, where they obtained their Master of Divinity (M.Div.), Master of Theology (Th.M.), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees in Divinity and Philosophy. In 1998, Brian obtained a certification as a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist from the Board of Professional Counselor and Therapists State of Maryland. In 2010, they earned a certification as a Diplomat in Supervision and Pastoral Psychotherapy from the College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy.
