JR Butler has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. JR co-founded Shift Group in 2022, where they serve as the CEO and Founder, connecting athletes and veterans with career opportunities and helping companies find top-quality candidates. In 2023, they became a Limited Partner at GTMfund. Prior to that, JR Butler was a Member at Pavilion in 2021.
Before their current roles, they worked at Pillir from 2019 to 2022, initially as a GTM Adviser and then as the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). As CRO, they led the global go-to-market strategy and built a high-performing team across various departments.
From 2016 to 2019, JR Butler held leadership positions at Turbonomic (now VMTurbo), starting as the VP of Enterprise Strategy and Execution and later becoming the Vice President of Sales East. JR managed teams focused on the commercial select market and worked closely with channel partners and clients to drive digital transformation.
JR'sprevious experience includes roles at VMTurbo, Lumenate, and International Computerware, Inc. At VMTurbo, they served as a Regional Director and an Account Executive, managing accounts and growing the team. At Lumenate, they were a Business Development Manager, and at International Computerware, Inc., they held various technology solutions account management roles, working closely with commercial and SMB accounts.
JR Butler began their career as an SPO Intern at EMC in 2006. Overall, they have a strong background in business development, sales, and leadership, with a focus on technology solutions and client relationships.
JR Butler attended Cushing Academy from 2000 to 2004, where they obtained their High School Diploma. Following this, from 2004 to 2008, they attended the College of the Holy Cross, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. JR'sareas of study included Sociology, Art History, and American Sign Language.
