Kelsey Ang is a Dancer, Choreographer, Educator, and Creative Director whose career spans the globe. She trained in Hong Kong and the Philippines before moving to Los Angeles where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a double degree in Dance and Marketing from Loyola Marymount University. She has had the pleasure of performing Bill T. Jones, Sidra Bell, and BODYTRAFFIC repertoire; and working with Jay Carlon, Toogie Barcelo, Invertigo Dance Theatre and CPG Concepts. She has performed live and in videos for music artists and brands including Lee Grove Music (Kristen Gutoskie), Robynn Yip and AIA Vitality.
Interested in the intersection of dance, art and media, Kelsey has choreographed and directed concert stage performances, music videos, short films and collaborations with fashion labels and music artists. Her dance film series "Night Market" was presented at the Along the Edge Arts Festival (HK) and MashUp Dance’s International Women’s Day Dance Festival (LA). Other recent works include choreographing music videos for artists Joyce Cheng and Robynn Yip, and directing a fashion video campaign for the Filipino brand Plains and Prints.
Kelsey is a passionate educator and the Director of SHIFT Dance, a dance program bringing internationally-renowned artists to Asia. She has hosted companies such as Akram Khan Company and BODYTRAFFIC. For her 2021 SHIFT Dance Intensive, Kelsey was selected to receive Mathilde Gilhet and Dario Dinuzzi’s WE-Award, a fund supporting artistic projects around the world. In addition to SHIFT, Kelsey has taught and choreographed for Red Shoe Dance Company (HK), West Island School (Hong Kong), Chinese University of Hong Kong, the ISF Academy (HK), Gigi Art of Dance (Indonesia), Dulwich College (Singapore), and Spacecuboid (Singapore). She has taught dance to people of all ages from kids 5-15 to adults ages 35-90 as a Teaching Artist for Invertigo Dance Theatre’s Dancing Through Parkinson’s program.
