Abu Bakar Hafeez Bhatti serves as the Director of the Transplant Program, Section Head of HPB Surgery, and a Surgeon at Shifa International Hospitals Limited since August 2014, specializing in HPB surgery and liver transplantation. Since January 2024, Abu Bakar has also taken on the role of Training Supervisor for HPB and Liver Transplant Surgery at the College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan, and previously served as faculty at Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University from January 2018 to June 2024. Additional experience includes a fellowship in HPB Surgery and Multivisceral Abdominal Transplantation at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in 2015, and a fellowship in Complex Surgical Oncology at Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre from June 2012 to June 2014. Abu Bakar completed a General Surgery Residency at DOW University of Health Sciences from May 2007 to May 2011 and earned a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree in Medicine from Dow University of Health Sciences from 2000 to 2005.
