Akhil I. is a Principal at Shield Capital since 2021, focusing on investment in early-stage companies with innovative dual-use technologies that support the U.S. interests. Prior experience includes roles at Anduril Industries in Mission Operations, and serving as a Special Operations Officer with the U.S. Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command (MARSOC) from 2016 to 2019, as well as an Infantry Officer in the US Marine Corps from 2012 to 2015. Akhil I. also has experience in research and teaching assistant positions at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, Stanford Center for International Security and Cooperation, and The Hoover Institution at Stanford University. Educational credentials include an MBA from Harvard Business School, a Bachelor of Arts from Stanford University, and a Master of Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School.
