Christopher Baker has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Christopher is currently working as a Principal Engineer at Shield AI since January 2022. Prior to this, they owned and served as the Principal of Murmur Labs LLC since October 2009. Christopher also worked as an Associate Professor of Art and Technology Studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago from May 2011 to January 2022. In addition, they were a Full Time Visiting Artist at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design from August 2010 to May 2011. Christopher previously worked as a Senior Researcher at the University of Minnesota from June 2008 to August 2010. Before that, they served as an artist in residence, program coordinator, and researcher at Kitchen Budapest Innovation Lab from September 2008 to November 2009. Christopher held multiple roles at the University of Minnesota, including Design Institute Fellow from June 2007 to December 2007 and IAS Graduate Research Fellow from September 2006 to May 2007. Their early work experience includes the role of Product Engineer at Zassi Medical Evolutions from January 1999 to January 2001.

Christopher Baker obtained a B.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering from Saint Louis University in 2001. Christopher then pursued further education and received an M.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Minnesota in 2005. Following this, they completed their education at the same institution in 2008, earning an MFA degree in Art with a minor in Computer Science.
