Sam Pherwani P.Eng CESCP, CUSP has a diverse work experience in the field of electrical engineering and instruction. Sam started their career in 1998 as an Electrical Controls Engineer at Giffels Consulting Engineers, where they worked until 2000. From 2000 to 2006, Sam held various positions at NXP Acquires Freescale Semiconductor, including roles as Sr. Facilities Engineer and Sr. Staff Facilities Engineer.

In 2005, Sam became the Engineer Proprietor at Sonsu Controls Inc. They then joined Siemens Energy in 2014 as a Site Building Services Manager, responsible for managing building services contracts for HVDC static inverter substations and construction projects.

From 2011 to 2014, Sam worked at Epic Educational Program Innovations Center as an Instructor, teaching subjects such as Electrical & Controls Engineering and HVAC controls.

In 2015, Sam worked as an Electrical Engineer/Instructor at Berkeley Lab, before joining Cole Engineering Group in 2016 as an Electrical Project Engineer. They also held the role of an Electrical Safety Instructor at Shermco Industries from 2016 to 2021.

Since 2019, Sam has been an Instructor and Engineer at Leaf Electrical Safety, and currently holds the position of a Sr. Electrical Engineer Instructor at Shermco Industries, starting in January 2022. Throughout their career, Sam has gained expertise in electrical engineering, controls engineering, HVAC controls, water/wastewater systems, electrical safety, and instructor roles.

Sam Pherwani P.Eng CESCP, CUSP has a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) and a Master of Science (M.Sc. Part 1) from Universities International in the US and Canada. Their field of study is Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering, with a specialization in Engineering Management.

In terms of additional certifications, Sam obtained the following:

- Certified Utility Safety Professional from USOLN in July 2023

- P.Eng - Electrical Engineering from Engineers and Geoscientists BC in May 2018

- Certified Electrical Safety Compliance Professional from NFPA in 2015 (month not provided)

- P.Eng - Instrumentation & Controls Engineering from Professional Engineers Ontario in December 2002.
