Hilary Nelson is an experienced educator with a diverse background in teaching. Currently serving as a 5th and 6th grade math and English teacher at Hermosa Valley School since August 2022, Hilary also holds a position as a kindergarten teacher at Sheridan School since August 2020 and has been the lead kindergarten teacher at Marin Preparatory School since July 2016, focusing on a bilingual curriculum. Additional experience includes founding the lead teacher role at The Gamboa Discovery School, where project-based learning was emphasized for multiage students, and previous roles such as lead kindergarten teacher at the daVinci School and teaching fellow at Greenhill School. Hilary’s international teaching tenure includes leading English/Spanish classes at Sámara Pacific School in Costa Rica and working as a habilitation specialist for children with special needs at Charlotte White Center. Hilary obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Child Psychology from the University of Maine, Orono, from 2005 to 2008.
