Alan Lombardo serves as the CEO of Sheltering Arms Institute since February 2019, leading a collaboration with Sheltering Arms and VCU Health to provide innovative rehabilitation services to patients throughout Virginia. Prior to this role, Alan Lombardo held various significant positions at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs from February 2003 to January 2019, including Interim Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer, overseeing a 375-bed medical center with a $650 million budget and a team supporting 60,000 Veterans. Alan Lombardo's educational background includes an MHA/MBA in Healthcare and Business Administration from Baylor University, a MSPT in Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University, and a BS in Biology from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania.
