Sven van den Bedem is an experienced professional with over 18 years in the energy sector, currently serving as the Shearwater Growth & ET Business Opportunity Manager/Project Director at Shell since April 2005. In this role, Sven is responsible for developing the long-term gas growth and decarbonization portfolio for the Shearwater gas hub, which involves complex projects involving electrification and government engagement. Previous positions at Shell include Energy Transition Business Opportunity Manager, where Sven led large-scale energy transition initiatives, and LNG Plant Manager for the Prelude Floating LNG, overseeing Shell's first and largest offshore floating LNG facility. Additionally, Sven holds a position as Director on the board of the Aberdeen Renewable Energy Group (AREG) and has an academic background with a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Delft University of Technology and studies in biomechanics from Erasmus University Rotterdam.
