Hasib Akand has a diverse work experience in the technology risk management and financial services industry. Hasib is currently serving as the Head of Technology Risk at Shaype since October 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Westpac as an Executive Manager from April 2021 to October 2022, where they were responsible for delivering the CORE program for the Specialist Business Division.

Before joining Westpac, Hasib worked at EY in various roles. From October 2019 to April 2021, they served as a Senior Manager, leading third party risk capability for the Financial Services Organization (FSO) practices in Sydney and Melbourne. Hasib also worked as a Manager from October 2017 to October 2019 and as a Senior Consultant - Risk Advisory from January 2016 to October 2017. In the latter role, they specialized in Vendor Risk Management for a large financial institution, managing a team to identify, assess, and govern vendor risks and controls.

Hasib started their career at PwC Australia, where they held positions as a Senior Consultant from December 2014 to November 2015 and as a Consultant from January 2013 to December 2014. Hasib gained early work experience through internships at Canon Australia as a Business Systems Analyst and at Accenture as an Analyst, both in 2011. Hasib also worked as a Business Analyst intern at News Ltd in 2010.

Hasib Akand has a Certified Chartered Accountant degree from Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. Hasib obtained this certification in January 2016. Hasib completed their Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree with a focus on Management Information Systems & Accounting from UNSW from 2009 to 2012. Prior to their undergraduate studies, they attended Jerudong International School from 2000 to 2008.
