Avery Ayers-Berry has been an art teacher at Shawnee Heights USD 450 since August 2001. Avery is also the sponsor of the National Art Honor Society. Avery Ayers-Berry was a nominee for the 2023 Kansas Teacher of the Year. Prior to their current position, Avery taught at USD 329 Wabaunsee High School from August 1994 to May 2001. Avery Ayers-Berry holds a Master's Degree in Education from Baker University and a Bachelor's Degree in Fine/Studio Arts Education from Washburn University. Avery has experience teaching various art forms such as ceramics, jewelry, painting, photography, and drawing. Additionally, Avery has developed cross-curriculum art lessons for 6th graders, incorporating subjects such as Social Studies, Science, Math, and Language Arts.
