Simon Wells has a diverse and extensive work experience in engineering and technical management roles. Simon has held positions at various companies, starting with Dyson in 1998 as a Design Engineer and later becoming a Design Engineering Manager. Wells has also worked at PDD Group Ltd as a Project Manager, leading innovation projects across different industries. Simon then joined Hozelock as a Design Project Manager, overseeing the development of a pond filtration system. After that, they worked at ACCO Brands in various technical management positions, responsible for new product development and managing engineering teams. Wells then moved on to Xeros, Inc. as the Head of Engineering, and later served as the Director of R&D at Aqualisa Products Limited. Currently, they hold the position of Global Vice President Engineering - Floorcare at SharkNinja.

Simon Wells attended Boston Grammar School from 1985 to 1992. Simon then went on to study at the University of Bath from 1992 to 1996, earning a B Eng (Hons) degree in Mechanical Engineering. From 1996 to 1998, they pursued further education at both the Royal College of Art and Imperial College London, obtaining an MA (RCA) degree in Industrial Design Engineering and a DIC degree in the same field, respectively.
