Alan Preis joined SAS from Atlanta, Georgia, where he was Director of Technology and 21st Century Learning at Atlanta International School. He has worked in educational technology in a variety of contexts from K-12 schools to university and has also done work in network and systems administration, software development, and database design. Alan studied Mathematics and Instructional and Curricular Studies, completing undergraduate and graduate work at the University of Maryland, Cornell University, and the University of Nevada. He has been an active member of the international school technology community, having been involved in the European Council of International Schools, the Council of International Schools, and the International Baccalaureate Organization. Alan’s interests include hiking, reading, and learning languages. His wife Kate is the High School Vice Principal on the Pudong campus, his son Elliott attends SAS’ Pudong campus, and his daughter Emily graduated from the Pudong campus in 2017.
