Fred Tharp is an experienced engineering professional with over 20 years in civil and construction engineering. Currently serving as Senior Engineering Division Manager and Deputy Program Administrator at the Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans since June 2017, Fred previously held the position of Port Director of Engineering at the Port of New Orleans from January 2016 to March 2017. Earlier in their career, Fred worked at the Washington State Department of Transportation, where roles included Assistant State Construction Engineer and Project Director - Design Build from April 2004 to July 2016, and Project Engineer from August 2000 to January 2004. Fred holds a Master’s degree in Engineering Management and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, both obtained from St. Martin's University in Washington.
