Marek Wazny

Director Information Services Risk Management at Servus Credit Union Limited

Marek Wazny, also known as Mark Wazny, has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Marek (Mark) currently holds the role of Director Information Services Risk Management at Servus Credit Union since November 2018. Prior to this, they worked for the Government of Alberta, where they held multiple positions. Marek (Mark) served as the IT Audit Manager from May 2016 to October 2018, where they conducted IT audits, managed vendors, and provided IT expertise. From May 2015 to May 2016, they were the Manager of Architecture and Standards, responsible for the department's technical architecture and research. From May 2011 to May 2015, they served as the Manager of Architecture and Security, ensuring information security and improving architecture. Additionally, from May 2007 to May 2011, they were the Team Lead for the Alberta Secure Access Service, overseeing the identity and access management system. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Network Applications Specialist at the University of Alberta from October 2002 to May 2007, where they managed network systems and servers. Marek (Mark) began their career at AT&T Canada as a Sales Engineer from February 2000 to February 2002, where they proposed telecom solutions for business customers. Through their various roles, Marek has demonstrated expertise in IT audit, technical architecture, information security, and network management.

Marek (Mark) Wazny obtained a Computer Engineering Technology (C.N.T) Diploma from NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) in 1996. In addition, they have obtained various certifications including TOGAF 9 Certified from The Open Group in 2016, Management Development Program from the University of Alberta in 2013, CISSP from (ISC)² in 2011, ITIL Foundation V3 from APM Group in 2008, CCNA from Cisco in April 2001, and MSCE from Microsoft in 1997.
