Kevin Barrett has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Kevin started their career at Bioware in 2005, where they served as the Director of Design until 2012. Following this, they joined the University of Alberta as the Lead Designer in January 2013, later transitioning to the role of Director of MOOCs. At the University of Alberta, they led the creative team that developed and defined MOOC 2.0. In 2014, they joined Onlea Corporation as the VP of Product Development, overseeing the creative team and their work on Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). In 2016, they briefly worked as a Management Consultant at Kevin Barrett Consulting. Finally, in 2017, they took on the role of Executive Director - Studio Operations at Serious Labs Inc., and in 2019, they assumed the position of Human Resources Manager for the same company.

Kevin Barrett earned a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from the University of Waterloo, where they attended from 1982 to 1987.
