John Arenas has a vast and diverse work experience spanning several decades. John started their career as a Project Engineer and Field Superintendent at Turner Construction from 1985 to 1987. John then worked as a Summer Associate at Oliver Carr Company in 1988. Following this, they joined Citi Group as a Relationship Manager and Senior Account Officer for commercial construction loan underwriting from 1989 to 1992.
Arenas then moved on to Resources Planning Corporation, where they served as the Vice President and General Manager from 1992 to 1996. John then became the CEO of Stratis Business Centers, a chain of franchised Flexible Office centers, which was acquired by Regus in 2001. At Regus, Arenas took on the role of President and General Manager of the Americas, overseeing the restructuring of approximately $1 billion in US office lease obligations and bringing the company back to profitability.
In 2005, Arenas founded Worktopia, an online reservation system for sourcing office space and meeting space. John later focused on the hotel meeting space vertical and established an online marketplace for travel distribution with partners such as American Express and Travelocity.
Arenas's most recent role is as the Chief Executive Officer of Serendipity Labs, a network of workplaces that provide productive and welcoming environments for knowledge workers and project teams.
