Erica Schlesinger has over 12 years of professional experience in technical development, research and development, formulation development, drug delivery, process chemistry, education, engineering, and teaching. In 2018, they served as VP Technical Development and Director, R&D for Serán Bioscience, LLC and Seran Bioscience, Inc., respectively. From 2016 to 2018, they were a Scientist in the Formulation Development Group at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc., responsible for pre-clinical development of advanced drug delivery technologies. Erica also worked as a PhD Candidate in Bioengineering (Drug Delivery) at Desai Lab, University of California San Francisco from 2012 to 2018, where they focused on film fabrication and characterization, controlled release device design, and pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical formulations. In 2015, they were a Formulation Development Group Intern at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and from 2012 to 2015 they were a Project Coordinator and Graduate Student Instructor at the University of California Berkeley Blum Center for Developing Economies. From 2012 to 2013, they were a Research Associate II in Process Chemistry at Seattle Genetics and from 2009 to 2012 they were an Education Volunteer in the Peace Corps, with roles as National Coordinator of Science Fair Mozambique, National Coordinator of Future Business Leaders of Mozambique, and project consultant and grant manager for a community cultural center. From 2007 to 2008, they were an Engineer I in the Process Development Rotational Program at Genentech and from 2006 to 2007 they were a Teacher's Assistant at Cornell University's Department of Chemical Engineering.
Erica Schlesinger completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Bioengineering from the University of California San Francisco / University of California Berkeley in 2016. Erica earned their BS in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University in 2007, and attended Ithaca College in 2003-2004.
