Tracey C. Fleischer, Ph.D.

Senior Director of Discovery Sciences at Sera Prognostics

Tracey C. Fleischer, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience in the field of biomedical sciences. Tracey C. started their career at the University of Maryland School of Medicine as a Lab Technician from 1993 to 1995. Tracey C. then pursued their education at the University of Utah, where they worked as a Graduate Student from 1995 to 2002, conducting research on the regulation of transcriptional repression.

Following their education, they worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Vanderbilt University from 2003 to 2006. During this time, they focused on proteomic screens of translation factors and their correlation with tumor progression.

In 2006, Dr. Fleischer joined Myrexis, where they held multiple roles as a Scientist. As Scientist II/Mass Spec from 2006 to 2010, they established a mass spectrometry-based proteomics platform for oncology drug discovery, identifying the targets of cytotoxic compounds through chemical proteomics. As Scientist III/Mass Spectrometry from 2010 to 2011, they managed an oncology project and supervised a team that contributed to the development of a novel cancer therapeutic.

From 2011 to 2012, Dr. Fleischer worked as a Consultant-Project Manager and Clinical Trial Coordinator at Great Basin Scientific.

Since 2012, they have been employed at Sera Prognostics, initially joining as a Senior R&D Scientist from 2012 to 2015. In this role, they focused on the development of serum-based proteomic tests to predict preterm birth in asymptomatic pregnant women. Tracey C. then advanced to the position of Director of Discovery Sciences from 2016 to 2020, and currently holds the position of Senior Director of Discovery Sciences from 2020 onwards.

Overall, Dr. Tracey C. Fleischer's work experience demonstrates their expertise in proteomic research, oncology drug discovery, and the development of diagnostic tests in the field of biomedical sciences.

Tracey C. Fleischer, Ph.D. completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology and Genetics from the University of Maryland, from 1989 to 1993. Tracey C. then pursued their higher education at the University of Utah, where they obtained their Ph.D. in Oncological Sciences between 1995 and 2002.
