Sean Boyle

Sean Boyle has extensive experience in the field of bioinformatics, with a focus on cancer and immuno-oncology solutions. Sean held various roles at Personalis, Inc., including Executive Director of Bioinformatics Science, Senior Director of Bioinformatics Applications, Director of Bioinformatics Applications, and Manager of Bioinformatics Applications. In these positions, they led teams in the development of novel DNA, RNA, and ctDNA applications for clinical diagnostics, neoantigen detection, characterization of biomarkers for immunotherapy, and profiling the tumor microenvironment. Prior to their time at Personalis, Sean co-founded Sensorygen, where they contributed to the research and development of olfactory-based insect repellents. Sean also served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Stanford University, focusing on genome sequencing and individual diagnosis and treatment. Sean completed their doctoral studies at the University of California, Riverside, where they developed a method to predict ligands for odor receptors in Drosophila. Additionally, they worked as an Associate Instructor and Researcher at Indiana University Bloomington and as an intern at Eli Lilly, where they designed an automated image analysis algorithm for neuronal necrosis identification.

Sean Boyle received their Master of Science degree in Bioinformatics from Indiana University Bloomington in 2007. Sean then pursued their PhD in Bioinformatics, Chemical Informatics, and Genetics at the University of California, Riverside from 2007 to 2012. Following their PhD, Boyle joined Stanford University as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the field of Personalized Genomic Medicine from 2012 to 2014.
