Poornima Byre Gowda has five years of work experience in software engineering. Poornima began their career in 2014 as a Project Trainee at the Center for Development of Telematics (C-Do T). Poornima then moved to Robert Bosch Engineering & Business Solutions India as a Software Engineer in the same year. In 2015, they took a role as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at The University of Alabama in Huntsville. In 2018, they held two roles simultaneously as a Software Engineer at Voiro and a Senior Software Engineer at SenseHawk.

Poornima Byre Gowda received a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Telecommunications Engineering from B. M. S. College of Engineering in 2014, after completing their studies there between 2010 and 2014. Poornima then went on to pursue a Master of Science (M.S.) in Computer Science at The University of Alabama in Huntsville, which they completed in 2017.
